Run-Swim-Run: 1K Beach Run, 1K Ocean Swim, 5K Run on Boardwalk
The Va. Beach Lifesaving Service will determine the direction of the current. Based on that, we will decide whether we run north or south on the beach to start the race. We will announce the direction in the pre-race instructions on race morning.
- 1K RUN NORTH FOR SOUTH SWIM: Run north from 31st Street to 40th Street. A volunteer will be here to guide the racers into the water. Swim back to 31st Street. Exit water and go through the arch and proceed to 31st St Park for the transition to the boardwalk run.
- 1K RUN SOUTH FOR NORTH SWIM: Run south from 31st Street to 22nd Street. A volunteer will be here to guide the racers into the water. Swim back to 31st Street. Exit water and go through the arch and proceed to 31st St Park for the transition to the boardwalk run.
- 5K BOARDWALK RUN: Exit 31st Street Park and head south following the gates/cones and the directions of the volunteers. The 5K is an out and back. The turn around is at 9th Street and will have cones and volunteers. You will finish by going under the Arch at 31st Street.
ALLEN STONE 5K RUN/WALK COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 5K starts at the start/finish arch on 31st Street on the Boardwalk. The course goes south to 9th Street which is the turnaround. There will be cones and volunteers at the turn around. The race finishes by heading north to the start/finish line at 31st Street.
ALLEN STONE 1 MILE KIDS RUN COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 1 Mile Kids run starts at the start/finish arch on 31st Street. The course goes south with the turnaround at 24th Street at the old Coast Guard Station. There will be cones and volunteers there to guide the children. The race finishes at the 31st Street start/finish arch. All kids will receive a finisher’s medal. There are results for this event but there are not awards.
